James 1:5

If any of you lacks wisdom,
let him ask of God,
who gives to all liberally and without reproach,
and it will be given to him.

Prayer is also important for hearing God so before we begin this study let's say a prayer:

Heavenly Father we love you. We thank you for letting us have this time to learn. Please bless us with wisdom and understanding as we read your Word. Protect us from the works of the devil. As Solomon prayed in 1 Kings 3:9 Therefore give to Your servant an understanding heart to judge Your people, that I may discern between good and evil. We need your help. Father God we thank you for giving us this blessing. In Jesus name we pray Amen.

Proverbs 2:10-11

When wisdom enters your heart,
And knowledge is pleasant to your soul,
Discretion will preserve you;
Understanding will keep you,
